Fundraising
As a committee, we are continuously discussing ideas and planning fundraising events. We are always open to new suggestions and ideas so please feel free to contact us with your input.
Some of our current and past events include:
2024 events:
We held a Key stage one and Key stage two Halloween discos. It was a very popular, sell out event. We had a great film night, showing Despicable me 4. The hot dogs and popcorn went down a treat. Our annual Christmas fair was a great success, with a wonderful crowd joining in all the festivities. We particularly enjoyed the new addition of introducing an Elf workshop. We then finished the 2024 year by surprising the children with a visit from Santa. Alongside him was his FOSS Elf helpers. Each child received a gift and the teachers received a present of their own – very hyper, happy and noisy children.
In 2023/24 we have funded STEM week, house rewards, phonics books, data loggers, main hall redecoration, outdoor play area, Santa visit and gifts, mobile cooker units, Matilda drama workshop, storage for Opal play, sit in spinners, entry to childrens parade, authors visit, SAT’s breakfast, leavers books, musical instrument and equipment, reception welcome picnic, visualisers, and a current investment for opal play equipment has been agreed and is in progress.
Previous sponsored events have included book reads, walks, and other fun, active challenges. Our sponsored ‘Race to… where?’ event raised £1534.39!
The money raised from this went towards the purchase of some Moki activity trackers for the children to track their steps, measure their physical activity intensity and enable them to set challenges via class readers and the Moki app.

We cannot thank the parents and guardians of the school for their kind generosity. We held several collections through out the year for Easter eggs, bottles, gifts, chocolates and toys. Without your kind generosity, we would not be able to raise as much money as we have at our Christmas, summer fairs and Easter events.
2023/24 An amazing total of £18,796 was raised with all the events, collections and donations.
Uniform Shop:
Our online preloved uniform shop can be accessed here. All items are second hand and in good, wearable condition. Orders must be placed online, with payment taken on collection of the item (cash or card). Purchased items can be collected from a member of the FOSS team at Shelley school Main Reception area on designated collection days.
To keep our online shop going it is imperative that uniform is recycled. We are always happy to accept uniform donations. Any items that are in good condition can be left at any time in our ‘FOSS’ drop off box located in the main reception area.
Please ensure that donated uniform has been freshly washed and is clean. Unfortunately, we cannot accept stained or dirty items.

Amazon Smile:
If you have an Amazon account, you can log in via Amazon Smile, which enables Amazon to donate 0.5% of your purchase costs direct to our school charity (Friends of Shelley School – Broadbridge Heath). This is easy to do and does not cost you anything. We have been collecting this year and have managed to collect a massive £239.62 so far (and that is with only 29 people donating!). Friends and family can be encouraged do the same, and for no extra cost to anyone. Simply shop at smile.amazon.co.uk to support our charity.
Easyfundraising:
We also have an account with Easyfundraising who can turn your everyday shopping purchases into free donations to FOSS. FOSS then receive a small percentage from your purchases from a range of retailers, for example Tesco, ebay, Argos, Sky, M&S… the list goes on! Its so easy and doesn’t cost you any extra as it is a donation direct from the retailer itself based on your purchase. This is another a great, easy way to donate to FOSS, without even knowing that you’re really doing so!
All you need to do to allow the donations is create a free account with Easyfundraising and choose to support ‘Friends of Shelley School’. Then, whenever you go online to make a purchase from a major retailer, you simply open up the Easyfundraising website first and shop on your intended site from there.

Ice Cream Fridays:
Over the summer months, we enjoy hosting ‘Ice Cream Fridays’ where we run a weekly, seasonal ice cream stall after school on Fridays, giving parents and pupils the chance to purchase a weekly ice cream treat. This summer we raised £904 from our ice cream sales!
